Altet Selangor, Danniel Iskandar Richard, 17, won three gold and two silver while Esmelda Arecia Menti Alfred Gelin, 13, after presenting the Sarawak champion two gold, two silver and one bronze.
Despite the injury, Danniel’s selection in the competetion, who is also known as Sportsman SUKMA, played excellent defense as he won gold medal last year, while Esmelda was selected based on her exhibiting excellence swift action in the apparatus in which she participates.

Danniel won a gold medal in the team event, the overall individual and truss saddle, while the silver medal in cross single and vault. Esmelda also won gold in the vault and beam, silver in the floor exercise and uneven bars, and bronze in the individual event overall.
He said, though not sure of the challenge at the World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium in September, but he will continue to focus on training to prepare for the next tournament.
