In table tennis doubles match yesterday, Ashraf won,
11-7, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9 to Kiang Ann, and clinched the second gold medal after
winning the men's doubles on Saturday. It was the best performance since
joining in 2006. Having being a gold medalist in the men's singles, table
tennis, Muhd Ashraf Haiqal was sought by a club based in the central zone of
Peninsular Malaysia.
Despite getting lucrative offers, including payment of
allowances as well as a more complete training infrastructure, Ashraf denied if
accepting the offer for the money factor.
He said, "Whatever the decision, I accept. If
Kedah management rejected the offer, I will follow and will continue training
as usual along with Kedah ".
Meanwhile, Head Coach of Kedah, Tan Tiang Song, admits
athletes, who are also operating the national athletes, have accepted the
offer. But in a recent management meeting, the decision to not release him, he
said before Malaysia Games 2013 begins.
Ashraf commented on the presentations at the final
meeting against Chai Kiang Ann from Sarawak, Pillar Song admit, the efficiency
shown by his player was increasing.
